No need to worry about paying off college debt, you're 'bout to win $40,000! Social competition site Yoxi is paying a team of three people up to 40K for creating an idea that solves a pressing social issue. I'm thinking you've got this in the bag...
Yoxi.tv just announced its "Trim the Waste of Fashion" competition, where teams of three will go head-to-head to lessen the environmental impact of fashion on the global community. Though some fashion brands have recently taken strides to reduce their impact on the environment--H&M created its WASTE line and Asos went for an entirely green collection--the industry as a whole seems more concerned with luxury than sustainable living. Every year, 10 million tons of textiles are wasted, millions of gallons of water sucked up and environmentally harmful dyes used. Unless the newest fall trend becomes the Emperor's new clothes, fashion needs an eco-face-lift, like, now.
That's where you come in. By entering Yoxi's competition, you and two others can be a part of fashion's makeover. Create a video that lays out your plan to trim fashion's waste, and you may be chosen by the online community (and a team of award-winning judges) to actually implement that plan with up to $40,000 in funding! Past Yoxi winners took on the task of reinventing fast food, and trimming waists, garnering both cash and community support along the way.
Yoxi.tv's "Trim The Waste of Fashion" is accepting team registrations until July 1.
