Some of your faves are taking a break from fist-pumping, hitting perfect pitches, and doing the paso doble to amplify their voice with GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) ahead of next week’s Spirit Day.

On Wednesday’s Real World, Nate realized his actions toward bisexual roommate Frank were quite homophobic. He apologized, and recognized he had work to do. Who else has work to do? Alice High School, where reportedly a male cheerleader was kicked of the squad after a security camera caught him kissing another male student. But in another sign of progress, UCLA is considering co-ed residence halls to provide a more inclusive, safe environment for transgender students.

So while there’s much good news and progress, something tells us maybe we can get a little louder? GLAAD’s Amplify Your Voice campaign aims to inspire us all, no matter who we are, to make a difference. Every action counts and with Spirit Day right around the corner, now couldn’t be a better time.

Well, you heard ‘em–and Mario Lopez, Kristin Chenoweth, Shaquille O’Neal, Rashida Jones, Amy Poehler, and others have joined, too. GLAAD has various resources to help you get amp’d! Check out their resource kits and get your purple shirt ready for Spirit Day next Thursday, October 20.
