Later this week, world leaders will gather in New York for the UN General Assembly meeting, at which point we will all demand answers to one burning question: Who wants to unscramble some Pieces of Peace!?
OK, maybe it's not exactly at the top of the agenda, but really, how cool is an interactive photo-scramble game depicting powerful images from around the world — projects near and dear to the UN's heart? That's just one bell/whistle that'll be part of the new UN Foundation app, a just-launched mobile and tablet application that keeps us in the global loop.
UN Youth Champion (and High School Musical star) Monique Coleman, who traveled around the world witnessing the power of technology in education and advocacy, urges us all to download it ASAP, saying, "It can bridge the gap between young people and the United Nations and equip today's 'philanthroteen' with the tools he or she needs to have global social impact."
Tools like:
- comprehensive news feeds from all departments
- connection to UN social network pages
- easy text-to-donate opportunities
- availability in all six official UN languages
- games
Download the UN Foundation mobile app, and stay tuned for highlights from this year's General Assembly, September 19-20. BTW, the GA is one of the UN's mega meetings of the year--over 100 heads of state and government will get together this week for it! For more deets on the GA, check out this vid.
