It’s Girl Power time! The Spice Girls are going to be performing at the Closing Ceremony of the Olympics and we can hardly wait! I mean the Open Ceremony hasn’t happened yet (it’s on Friday, Friday!) but yeah, we’re all up ons on the Closing Ceremony, come August 12. While we’re getting ready to spice up our lives with them, we wanted to put together a fun list about how Posh, Ginger, Baby, Sporty, and Scary have given back. Along with this awesome list, we pulled up some old school images of the girls! It will bring you back!
+ Posh Spice
Victoria Beckham, a.k.a. Posh Spice, hasn’t let walking everywhere in her Brian Atwood heels stop her from getting out and helping people. She and her hunky husband, David Beckham, have spent major money helping disabled children get wheelchairs. Posh and Becks have four little Beckhams of their own, but they make sure to help children who need it the most.
+ Ginger Spice
Geri Halliwell, a.k.a. Ginger Spice, had a breast cancer scare in her pre-Spice days. Thankfully it turned out to be nothing, but it got Ginger dedicated to spreading breast cancer awareness. She’s been an official patron for the UK’s Breast Cancer Care org for more than a decade.
+ Baby Spice
Emma Bunton, a.k.a. Baby Spice, might not actually be a baby, but she does care about the lil ones. In fact, just earlier this month the sole blonde in the group visited a children’s hospital in London to brighten the day of the kids there. She’s also helped disadvantaged children through the Have a Heart Campaign.
+ Sporty Spice
Melanie Chisholm, a.k.a. Mel C, a.k.a. Sporty Spice ought to fit right at home with something as athletic at the Olympics. She’s also been involved with the UK’s Sport Relief, which helps better the lives of disadvantaged people. And she can show off her sporty side doing it! At the Sport Relief London Mile earlier this year she ran three miles for the charity run.
+ Scary Spice
Melanie Brown, a.k.a. Mel B, a.k.a. Scary Spice, might not be so scary after all. And Mel C isn’t the only Spice who’ll do some running for charity. Mel B took part in Keep LA Running, which uses its donations for disaster relief and hospital care for women and children in California.
