FROM MTV NEWS--Lady Gaga has never been shy to stump for political causes. She's stumped for marriage equality and spoke out against "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." Her Born This Way track "Americano" even touches on immigration issues, but just because she's currently pop music's most vocal advocate doesn't mean she'd want anything to do with actually holding public office.

On June 10, 1963, then President John F. Kennedy opened his commencement address at American University in Washington, D.C., with bold intentions: "I have, therefore, chosen this time and this place to discuss a topic on which ignorance too often abounds and the truth is too rarely perceived," he said, "yet it is the most important topic on earth: world peace."
