Rock on, ladies! This May fashion mag ELLE will have its annual Women in Music issue, and to celebrate it’s putting on a private concert on April 11. People attending get to hear awesome music and hang out with cool singers, but there’s also a charity angle thrown in. Money earned there will go to the VH1 Save the Music Foundation.

Pop stars Leona Lewis and Jessie J are using their big voices, and Twitter feeds, to put an end to wild animals performing in circuses. Recently, the U.K. government has decided not to place an outright ban, which was initiated by the Animal Welfare Act passed in 2006, but rather use a licensing system instead to ensure proper treatment of the animals.
