Southern Sudan Votes for Independence

Six years ago, Sudanese officials signed a peace agreement, officially ending a tireless conflict that killed nearly 2 million people and lasted over 20 years. The aftermath, however, continues to affect the Sudanese people. Divided by race, religion and government corruption, the northern and southern regions have not been able to restructure as one unified state.
