Gun violence is an emotional and far-reaching issue in America today, and Snoop Lion’s not shy about his thoughts on the matter. Besides making the song “No Guns Allowed” and teaming up with MTV and Jewelry For a Cause to get illegal guns off the streets, he’s gotten involved with Voices Against Violence.

Voices Against Violence calls for “common sense laws that will save lives by keeping guns out of the wrong hands.” While many American citizens believe in reforms like universal background checks, the current law does not align with these beliefs. So VAV is asking people who support gun law reform to contact their elected officials. The website makes this easy by supplying the general number to call the Senate.
I think it’s fair to say Snoop’s already called his Senators, but he hasn’t stopped there. His “No Guns Allowed” vid makes a heartfelt appeal by showing news coverage of tragic shootings worldwide and other images related to gun violence. While it doesn’t show actual bloodshed, it def gets the point across.

Snoop Lion is also passionate about his involvement with the limited edition MTV x Caliber bracelets. In case ya missed it, these specialty bracelets are made partially from the steel of illegal guns that have been taken off the streets. Part of the proceeds go to the Newark Police Department to continue their work against gun violence. There are many roads to peace, and it looks like Snoop wants to go down all of them.
