This week the news has been big on telling us about the Israeli-Gaza conflict, which has cost many lives in the Middle East. In response, a peaceful image has gone viral, and Ricky Martin wants to share it with you.
The “Livin La Vida Loca” singer Tweeted:
The picture below, which was put up by our friends at Do Something on their Facebook page, quickly spread around the interwebz, ending up on the Huffington Post where Ricky found it.
Explaining how the recent violence started, CNN explained yesterday, “Israel launched the conflict eight days ago with a stated goal of ending the frequent rocket attacks on southern Israel from inside Gaza.” Gaza is a Palestinian city. After a little over a week of violence and about 150 lives lost, a cease-fire was announced on Wednesday.
The two men in Ricky’s picture show that there are many people tired of fighting who want to make peace. On Thanksgiving, peace is something to be grateful for, and something we keep striving to make a reality around the globe. ‘Cause it’s always good to “like” peace, but it’s even better to find ways to practice it!
