This week the Supreme Court is listening to two different cases involving same-sex marriage, so people are letting their voices be heard on the issue. Beyoncé, following in the footsteps of her hubs Jay-Z, has announced her support of marriage equality, and Ricky Martin is happy to share.
That’s because Beyoncé didn’t just give her support — she gave it in style. “Single Ladies” just got a rewrite:
Queen Bey isn’t much into Twitter (her last Tweet was way back in August — wah!). But she did go to Facebook and Instagram to share a red piece of paper where she wrote her new lyrics, you can see it in all its glory below. The queen has spoken!
Okay, so you probably have “Single Ladies” running through your head right now (well, I do), but this musical Tweet is far from the first time Ricky’s spoken out about marriage equality. This week, to coincide with what’s going on with SCOTUS, he’s Tweeted about the issue multiple times. In this Tweet he got talking about different family structures:
There are single moms and dads, and grandparents raising kids and countless other forms of families, too, but Twitter does give you just 140 characters, and Ricky still gets his point across that different types of families are still families. Ricky also shared a message from the Human Rights Campaign, the LGBT rights org that’s doing a great job of turning social media red:
Okay, who here still has “Single Ladies” going through their head?
