Lizz Winstead, co-creator of “The Daily Show,” is not stepping down in her fight for reproductive rights. Last week Lizz talked to MTV Act about why women’s rights matter, and yesterday she was using Twitter to continue to spread the message.

After seeing people Tweet the hashtag #PraytoEndAbortion, Lizz responded by saying:

Whether or not abortion is legal never has any bearing on how many abortions are performed. Just as many women will be seeking them out, but legal abortion keeps women from dying from unregulated procedures.

Lizz continued to Tweet:

Soon #ProtectChoice was trending. Lizz also brought up this issue:

If you’re not sure what she’s talking about, here’s the lowdown: lawmakers in Michigan just approved a measure that makes women buy special insurance if they think they might need an abortion in the future. This is being called “rape insurance,” because, essentially, you’ve got to decide to buy this insurance before you ever get pregnant, including if you’re raped. So women of Michigan (and parents of girls under 18) are going to have to think long and hard about the odds of being raped and if, as a rape victim, they might need this. While this Michigan bill was being debated, one state senator talked about how horrifying her own rape was and state Rep. Colleen Lamonte talked about having a miscarriage at 12 weeks. The way miscarriages go, sometimes you need a medical abortion to finish them and protect the woman’s health. Rep. Lamonte’s insurance had covered the abortion care she’d needed, but she pointed out that with this new law, “I would have been denied this procedure. Or we would have had an expensive medical bill that would have bankrupted us.” Despite this testimony of what rape insurance would actually do to women, it was approved. Lizz Tweeted:
