Sweet Tweet: Max Joseph Envisions A Safer America With Fewer Guns

Gun violence is something Americans struggle with too regularly, and Max Joseph of “Catfish” wants to see a better, less violent future for the USA.

Max tweeted:

While you may or may not agree with Max’s image of a country with no guns at all, we can all agree something needs to be done about gun violence. Max links to a Huffington Post article that quotes the final episode of “Piers Morgan Live.” Morgan, the host of the show, pointed out that 100,000 Americans each year are shot by guns.

“I assumed that after 70 people were shot in a movie theater and then just a few months later 20 first-graders were murdered with an assault rifle in an elementary school, that the absurd gun laws in this country would change, but nothing has happened,” he said, referencing the Aurora, Colorado, “Dark Knight Rises” shooting and the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut. “The gun lobby in America, led by the NRA, has bullied this nation’s politicians into cowardly silence. Even when 20 young children are blown away in their classrooms.”

He continued, “More guns doesn’t mean less crime, as the NRA repeatedly tries to tell you. It means more gun violence, more death and more profits for the gun manufacturers.”

For some final words, he said, “These are your gun laws. And the senseless slaughter will only end when enough Americans stand together and cry, ‘Enough!’ I look forward to that day.”

What do you think can be done to decrease gun violence?
