Abandoning camera-ready glamour long enough to say “cheese,” Mariah Carey is standing by her man and asking fans to do the same. Yesterday, she posted a photo on Twitter of herself and husband Nick Cannon snuggled up on a hospital cot.
Here’s a more up close and person look of the pic. Mimi is hydrating Nick via grown-up sippy-cup while Nick flashes his wedding band and a look that says, “Fine, take the pic, nurse. As long as nobody FB mobile uploads it.” Given that Mrs. Cannon is always in diva divine mode — rocking heavy ice and fabulous dresses and glittery mics (check out her Twitter background pic), it’s a very different, intimate sort of peek into the real look of love for these two.
Of course, the Twitpic wasn’t shot for cuddle-factor alone. In her tweet, Mariah calls Nick “#mybraveman” — and urges followers to pray for his speedy recovery from what she describes as “mild kidney failure.”
While the cause and details of Cannon’s affliction aren’t clear yet, we do know that 26 million American adults have Chronic Kidney Disease and that African Americans, Hispanic, Pacific Islanders and Native Americans are at greater risk. Diabetes and high blood pressure are the major causes, but all kinds of factors can play in, so eating right, exercising and getting regular check-ups are, as always, impreative to maintaining a healthy bod.
Feel better soon, Mr. Cannon!! Stoked to get you back in peak performance so that you can kick your Act-ready spirit of service back in gear for 2012.
