So how’s your 2014 going so far? It’s early enough in the new year that we’re still thinking about the old one, and Jared Leto shared examples of how we made the world a better place during the 365 days of 2013.
13 Important Ways We Improved The World In 2013 – http://t.co/vT8pUTZmpO
— JARED LETO (@JaredLeto) January 1, 2014
Jared links to a Huffington Post article that lists 13 things that got waaay better in 2013. Some of the things brought up are the steps we took toward marriage equality, the fact people pledged $12 billion to fight AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis (that’s the biggest donation the Global Fund’s ever gotten!) and how Malala has been helping more and more girls attend school. We also set goals to help the environment, we protected more kids from serious preventable diseases, and we helped people find homes and jobs, thereby bringing down the homeless rate. Yay!
It’s always great to notice our progress, and readers of MTV Act ought to feel proud, because some of the things you guys got involved with made it to the list. You were part of the fight for marriage equality and girls’ rights, and the fight against AIDS and other diseases. Another thing the Huffington Post points out is the desegregation of a prom in Georgia, which we covered in an exclusive interview.
Check out HuffPost to see the entire list and see what else took place. And, in the meantime, what do you think should be the 13 main things (or should it be 14?) we can make a diff with in 2014?
