What better than a peace sign for the winner of this category?!
It was an-all star competition for the Best Video With A Message win. Demi was up against Gym Class Heroes (featuring Ryan Tedder), Kelly Clarkson, K'NAAN (featuring Nelly Furtado), Lil Wayne and Rise Against. All of them had great songs and videos with strong messages. But in the end, you decided you wanted Demi to take home the prize for her video of “Skyscraper,” which is about overcoming hard obstacles.
The prize was given to her right at the end of her preshow performance. No nervous waiting, no envelope opening. Sway presented the Moonman to Demi and she was def. gracious about it."I can't even tell you what it means to me. It's so amazing that I'm actually touching one of these. I've always watched the VMAs growing up and now I'm holding one [Moonman]. This is crazy," said Demi.

The night turned out to be proof that her winning song “Skyscraper” is right -- you can overcome obstacles. After struggling seriously with issues like bulimia and self-harm, Demi was back on top last night as you can see in her performance below!
