Austin Mahone’s got a lot on his mind while shooting the video for “Mmm Yeah” (whah? The whole 70s look isn’t good enough?), but that’s not all he’s thinking about. Austin also knows about helping others and paying it forward.
The teen pop star Tweeted:
If you can lay down at night, knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit… http://t.co/EXCDlD838t— Austin Mahone (@AustinMahone) February 18, 2014
His message finished on Instagram, “better, you know you had a good day.” And he shared a pretty sweet pic of birds flying over the ocean.
Austin likes to help out. Last year he hooked up with MTV Act so he could send one fan roses for Valentine’s Day. The catch was that the fan had to be doing something pro-social, you know, something to make a diff. In the end, Austin sent a bouquet of roses and a signed card to a fan who had written and performed an anti-bullying play.
When you lie down at night and think about what you did during the day, it does feel good to know you’ve helped someone. And there are lots of ways to help. You can get involved with a charity or organization that’s involved with a cause that matters to you. You can donate money or old clothes or whatever else to those in need. You can also take action on the various widgets we have on MTV Act stories (OK, we’re a little biased there).
Helping others could even be as simple as saying something nice to another person, like complimenting them for a job well-done or letting them know they mean a lot to you. It’s all good!
