Curious where the gorgeous Shay Mitchell just recently traveled? Oh, ya know, just being a badass and volunteering in Kenya during her free time. The “Pretty Little Liars” starlet jetted off to Africa alongside Free the Children on a Me to We volunteer trip.
While she walked with the locals on a community water walk, Shay carried a 22 pound water jug in order to better understand the hard work that goes into getting this most basic necessity. 1.3 billion people lack access safe drinking water, which is why it is so important to draw attention to this cause.

After a whirlwind of traveling, Shay Tweeted, “Just landed after traveling some 30+ hours… My bed has never looked so good !… Definitely all worth it though!”
Along with the water walk, the actress helped build schools in the Maasai and Kipsigi communities. With 133 million young people around the world unable to read or write, building schools is essential. The Maasai community is very into beading, and it is a big part of the income for women, so Shay even partook in this area of the community as well.
