Macklemore knows a thing or two about love: He’s stood for LGBTQ love in “Same Love,” he’s shown his love for activism in his involvement in the ACLU, and now he’s showing love by visiting the Seattle Children’s Hospital.
The Best Video with a Social Message winner shared these heartfelt images on Instagram:
He wrote, “One of the best afternoons I’ve had in long time. Thanks to all the incredible kids I met today at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Michelle, Kai, Riley, Trayvon and all the others. Inspiring human beings to say the least.”
These kids show incredible bravery, and clearly Macklemore was in awe of them. I mean, who wouldn’t be? Kids (and adults!) who battle serious illnesses are called warriors and survivors for a reason.
Macklemore hails from Seattle, which might explain why he chose to visit this hospital. But there are children’s hospitals all over the place, and it might really brighten some kids’ days if you stop by. Hospitals are always interested in volunteers, but you can also donate money or toys. Maybe you’ve got some old toys you don’t need anymore and you think the kids at the local hospital might be able to enjoy them. Macklemore seems to be constantly looking for ways to give back, and you might have noticed it’s not hard to find opportunities. You can find lots of different ways to spread the love, and as Macklemore can tell you, this world could always use some more love.
