Katy Kats, it’s time to grab a copy of Elle Canada and gossip over the Katy Perry cover! As “Roar” is rockin’ the charts, Katy opens up to Elle on how she remains balanced in what could often turn into a chaotic moment.

Katy opened up saying, “I make sure to give myself a break. I had to find that balance. But I learned this thing called Transcendental Meditation, which I do as much as I possibly can. It’s 20 minutes and you’re supposed to do it twice a day, but I only do it once every other day — but anyway, it works. People say you should work out 30 minutes a day — none of us works out 30 minutes a day!”

Transcendental Meditation (TM) is a type of mantra meditation, and it can be a powerful tool to calm the mind. Oprah Winfrey even has her fellow employees at Harpo take time during the day to meditate. While Katy stays fierce by embracing meditation, Katy told Elle she envies her gal pal RiRi. “I think that Rihanna always looks so fresh and I’m like, ‘How do you do that? We all know how much pot you smoke! And you don’t sleep because you’re on Instagram at four o’clock in the morning! I’ll get her secret for you.”
