The news hasn’t been concentrating on the Philippines lately, which might give the impression everything’s all better since Typhoon Haiyan. That couldn’t be farther from the truth, and fun. has joined in the efforts for Haiyan relief.
Nate, Andrew and Jack Tweeted:
Yup, that there is a bonafide piece of fun. history: it’s a Epiphone electric guitar that was used during the 2013 Most Nights Tour. And ALL of the proceeds will go to help those in need.
Music for Relief and Alice In Chains & Friends Fantasy Football League 2013 are behind this auction, and if Music for Relief sounds familiar — it was started by the band Linkin Park. If you scroll through the other items at the charity auction, you’ll also see swag from Metallica, Green Day and, of course, Linkin Park and Alice in Chains.
Music for Relief is doing some serious business to help Haiyan relief. Rewind a few days ago, January 11: Linkin Park, The Offspring and other bands put on a concert specifically to help the people of the Philippines. The org has hooked up with International Medical Corps, and they’re working to get people medicine and medical treatment.
The auction has some “you can brag about this forever” merch, but we got ya if it’s out of your price range. You can donate whatever amount of money you want to Music for Relief or the International Medical Corps, and it will be appreciated. As time goes by some people have been drifting away from helping the Philippines, but Linkin Park and fun. are determined to show that the need for aid is still there.
