Before there was Justin Bieber, Wes Craven was making millions of people around the world “Scream.” MTV and Dimension Films have just revealed their plans to turn Craven’s film franchise into a one-hour TV pilot, scheduled to debut in summer 2014.

Until we find out who’ll be starring in it, let’s check out the leading ladies who’ve been screamin’ since ’96!

+ ‘Scream’: Neve Campbell

Original “Scream” queen Neve Campbell‘s little brother Damian has Tourette’s Syndrome — a neurological disorder that causes physical and vocal outbursts that range from the sudden urge to scratch an itch to shouting obscenities in public. There are many misconceptions and stereotypes associated with Tourette’s, and Neve works closely with the Tourette Syndrome Foundation of Canada to foster greater public understanding.

+ ‘Scream 2′: Sarah Michelle Gellar

History 101: Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are so the original Selena and Justin. Although she’s best known for playing a vampire slayer, Sarah is an animal-lover who was recently honored at the Los Angeles Zoo’s Beastly Ball. On charity work, she said, “My mother taught me a long time ago that even when you have nothing, there’s a way to give back and what you get in return for that is tenfold.”

+ ‘Scream 3′: Jenny McCarthy

Jenny McCarthy is the president of Generation Rescue — a helpful website for the parents of children with autism. Jenny discovered GR while seeking information after her son Evan was diagnosed with autism. “I read every single testimonial Generation Rescue posted,” she said. “I tried every single option, followed every single piece of advice. I did this very methodically, and very privately — just me, a mother trying everything to recover my son.”

+ ‘Scream 4′: Emma Roberts
