It’s time to be writing up your resolutions! Many people concentrate on resolutions involving themselves, but why not make a resolution to help others? If you want to volunteer more in 2014, be inspired by these three celebs who go above and beyond to help others!

+ Sophia Bush

Sophia Bush’s Twitter page might as well be its own foundation, because it feels as if the majority of her Tweets involve causes and campaigns to make the world a better place. But Sophia doesn’t just spread awareness on social media — she also personally gets involved in issues like women’s rights, environmentalism and the right to education. Didja know she’s even willing to skydive for girls’ rights?

+ Ian Somerhalder

If there’s a cause that involves animal welfare or the environment, you know Ian Somerhalder is pretty much guaranteed to be a part of it. He’s founded his own foundation that he encourages Act readers to get involved in, but he also gets involved with other orgs, like the World Society for the Protection of Animals. Plus he’s big on animal adoption and just became a pet-grandpa, after his rescue dog gave birth to puppies.

+ Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde is another celeb whose Twitter account consists largely of pro-social Tweets about things like women’s rights, civil rights and animal welfare. She’s shown the sexist realities women face by taking part in “Half the Sky,” and is on the Board of Directors for Artists for Peace and Justice. She’s also on the Advisory Board for the news and action site RYOT, along with … Ian Somerhalder and Sophia Bush. Hmmm, small world.
