It was bound to happen. With Kate Middleton serving as a symbol of fairy tales coming true, the Cinderella comparisons were hardly a surprise. Side by side, Kate and Prince William mirrored a princess Cindy and Prince Charming on their wedding day, putting Disneyland impersonators to shame and sweeping royal wedding fanatics off their feet.
Now it looks as though Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are making their way into the live action Disney re-creation, thanks to a couple of viral videos that nail the images down to a T--the colors, the poufy skirts, the hats, the works. The admittedly amusing pics just add to the fun, especially seeing as how we know those girls are no Drizella and Anastasia. They have heart, dammit.
Beatrice is demonstrating her good intentions by auctioning off her now famous (infamous?) wedding day chapeau, the masterpiece sculpture that is equal parts mirror-mirror-on-the-wall and feminine deep sea creature. The bids on eBay are already up to 15,500 British pounds ($25,146 in U.S. dollars!) with six full days to go. All proceeds will go to UNICEF and Children in Crisis, two NGOs that back her beliefs. (Don't forget that Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton still welcome your support for their wedding gifts of choice, lotsa charitable donations.)
Bea is hardly the first to hock her high fashion garb for a good cause. The Clothes Off Our Back initiative has been operating for years and years, with the likes of Kristen Stewart, Taylor Swift and Robert Downey, Jr. donating garments to be auctioned off for charity.
