We always knew it was true: cupcakes will change the world.
The nonprofit organization She's the First has launched a countrywide mission to help girls in developing countries finish their education. How? By providing scholarship funds raised through good ol' fashioned bake sales.
You can register your bake sale now--all bake sales will take place the week of Nov. 1-8. She's the First has provided this groovy tie-dye cupcake recipe and they'll coordinate the donations going to young girls in India, Nepal, Guatemala, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia and Sudan. And the extra-cool part? They'll put you in touch with the girls you sponsor so you can keep up with their progress!
You can bake your way to changing the world, and getting started is simple. Even if you're the best baker on the block, you still need some business savvy to get the most out of your sale and raise awareness to the cause you're supporting. We've got some She's the First tips to help you have a seriously successful bake sale.

Make a Plan
+ In September, notify your school's newspaper, radio station or blog. Spread the word through Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. ...
+ In October, create your promotional materials like flyers, email blasts and items needed for your table setup.
+ Nov. 1-8, cupcake teams unite! Student-led bake sales will be taking place across the country. Keep posting about your fundraiser and sharing photos and video on Facebook and Twitter.
Get Organized
+ Determine who will shop for ingredients, who will bake and what your table shifts will be.
+ Keep your money in a safe location and have one person in charge of the funds.
+ Send your check to She's the First within one week of your sale.
+ Watch your tasty creations change lives through education.
Though these tasty treats are nomalicious, just think about the fact that selling some cupcakes (and come on, they aren't exactly a hard sell) could change a girl's life forever. Ready, set, bake!
