So what if I'm playing FarmVille all day? I'm giving back to charity! From now until October 31st, join game-developer Zynga and the stuffed-crust-famous Pizza Hut as they try to stamp out world hunger.
From September 25th through October 31st, Zynga is offering up prizes in four of its games (FarmVille, CityVille, Pioneer Trail, Empires & Allies) every time a player makes a $5 donation made to the World Hunger Relief charity. In exchange for a donation, the "Share A Slice Of Hope" campaign will allow gamers to win food wagons, nutrition centers, farms and merino sheep, not to mention a resulting one-up on the rest of the Zynga community. But this isn't the first time the developer has leveraged its clout in the community to do good. Since 2010, Zynga has donated over $10 million to earthquake recovery in Haiti and rebuilding efforts across the South in the wake of tornadoes. It's even teamed up with the greatness that is Gaga for "Gagaville," a collaboration that inspired a Gaga-farm as well as a donation from the pop icon to the Zynga's relief efforts in Japan.
So get on what's good and start a farm! Oops, you'll have to excuse me, my sheep are bahh-ing.
