Think ya got the design chops to impress Pete Wentz with a smokin’ hot charity t-shirt concept? Betta get your creative juices flowin’ and hop on this sweet cyber contest!
The prince of pop punk has teamed up with MASScanvas: Inspired Tees to crowd source rad riffs on his selected challenge theme of POWER. Pete’s advice?
“Think out of the box. Get deep. Let self-empowerment, the genesis or evolution of power, a powerful cause, amplification, etc., inspire you.”
Ya dig? The submission period ends on February 29, and then a week of public voting goes down, after which on March 22 , Wentz will choose the 5 winners from the top 20 -- each earning $1,000 bucks for their hard work.
The best part? Online sales of the winning tees will benefit Invisible Children – an awesome org fighting the child soldier epidemic in Central Africa that the Fallout Boy frontman passionately supports.
We're loving MASScanvas 'cause every month they run these cool, themed t-shirt design competitions in partnership with a famous artist and the selected tees are then sold in support of a worthy cause. Awesome sauce, right?
Previous pro-social t-shirt throwdowns from MASScanvas have been hosted by comic legend Stan Lee for the John Wayne Cancer Institute, My Chemical Romance for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and iJustine for charity: water. We gotta say -- the resulting swag is pretty suh-weet.
We’re already inspired to beef up our cause closet now that Vinny’s sporting eco-wear -- so git on it, people!
