O Music Awards Fights Bullying with Online Donations & 24 hours of DANCING!

We already dropped some knowledge on y’all about the O Music Awards – MTV’s 2nd shout-out to the offbeat and outrageous world of online bands, fans and trends — and their plans to break a Guinness World Record at the iconic Roxy nightclub on LA’s Sunset Strip.

The bestest part is that this 24-hour get-down is fueled by a desire to do good. Participants will be busting a never-ending move in honor of National Bullying Prevention Month, and not only is MTV partnering with GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN), The Gay Straight Alliance Network (GSA),  Human Right Campaign (HRC,) It Gets Better Project, and the Trevor Project to support struggling LGBT youth — it’s now looking to raise some anti-hate hundos, too!

Obvi, the OMAs are keeping it cyber by utilizing Crowdrise — Edward Norton’s online crowdsourcing and social media site that puts the fun back in fundraising. Basically you can gather donations for this footloose fight against intolerance.

And while the battle of the band-aids rages on in the OMA’s Fan Army FTW category (Will the Glamberts out-diva the Lovatics? Are Little Monsters in a bad romance with the Beliebers? Can Taylor Nation take on Team Weezy?!), fanatics like Tokio Hotel’s Aliens plan on getting behind the anti-bullying efforts by creating Crowdrise pages of their own to mobilize their musical soldiers and send a message of love to the LGBT community.

We say WTF to the OMAs — Way To Fanraise!
