Join Miley’s Fight Against Homelessness + Win Concert Tix!

2014 MTV Video Music Awards - Show
Miley Cyrus made a big splash at the VMAs again, but this time it was for how she brought attention to youth homelessness. This wasn’t a one-time thing, though — Miley really wants to make a difference, and she says she’s just getting started.

The VMA winner has a new Prizeo campaign, through which funds go to My Friend’s Place, which helps homeless young people in Hollywood. You can donate now through September 21st, and if you donate at least $5, you’ll be in the running to hang out with Miley and attend her Rio de Janeiro concert next month. No worries about money for the trip — flights and hotel are covered!

“Just a few miles from where I live in Los Angeles, there are young people living on the street who come to this city with big dreams just like all of us,” Miley wrote on her Prizeo page. “There are an estimated 4,000 homeless youth living in L.A. and more than 1 million youth living on the street, in abandoned buildings, with friends or strangers. I’m starting this campaign not only to bring awareness to this issue, but also to raise funds to end youth homelessness. This is just the beginning for me, but we’re going to get started now by focusing on My Friend’s Place, a homeless center for young people in Hollywood.”

She def hopes her fans will join her in this cause. “[W]e all have the power to make change happen. This is about helping youth, people just like you and me have the opportunity to find their inner power and potential, no matter what their circumstances.”
