The school shooting at Sandy Hook is still fresh in people’s minds, and in this time of strong emotions, Love Is Louder is here to give emotional support, especially to people in the Newtown community. This is a time to say, “Love is louder than violence."
If you want to show your support to the people of Newtown but don’t live in the area, you can hook up with Love Is Louder and their new campaign. Love Is Louder is asking for photos and artwork that show your support, like writing “Love is louder than violence” on your hand and snapping a pic.
Share your photos and art on Love Is Louder’s Facebook page, Twitter, Tumblr or Instagram, and make sure you use you use the hashtags #loveislouder and #newtown. After a bunch of these messages have been collected, they will be included in a special music video featuring a song written and sung by Newtown residents. All of this is going to help empower the people of Newtown, but it can also be emotional support for anyone who's shaken by the recent news.
In addition to the online video, you can also spread the message out in the Newtown community by sponsoring a Love Is Louder yard sign. You can make it so that the sign is put up in Newtown, or you can get a sign up in your own yard, no matter where you live. Newtown residents will be putting up their sponsored signs this weekend, so you still have time to take part in that. Let’s show how loud love can be!
