Lea has been a star in the making for years (as our recent Throwback Thursday post proved) and she’s also been into philanthropy for a long time. This is far from the first time she’s been involved with Chrysalis. In fact, both she and her late boyfriend Cory Monteith were proud supporters of the org.
The story of Chrysalis goes back to the ’80s, when 22-year-old John Dillon came to L.A. to help people living in poverty. After he saw how bad things were, he formed Chrysalis to help people without homes and/or struggling to survive on a low income. Now the org is dedicated to helping people find jobs, keep jobs and be able to sustain themselves.
Lea wasn’t the only big star out for this event, or even the only cast member of “Glee.” She was joined by co-stars Chord Overstreet, Naya Rivera and Becca Tobin. The Duff sisters, Hilary and Haylie, also showed for the important night.
Like all the stuff you’re hearing about Chrysalis? They’ve got tons of volunteer opps, and you can also donate. If you live in SoCal and are in a situation where Chrysalis can help you, you also ought to totally check them out. This org is here to help, and it’s got a lot of stars like Lea who can vouch for all the good work it does!
