The second leg of the 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards hit New York City this weekend, with country music, young straight couples and Netflix among the night’s proudest.

At the ceremony, GLAAD honored shows, movies, and stars in the media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and the issues that affect their lives.

In performing her LGBT-empowering hit song “Follow Your Arrow,” 25-year-old country music sweetheart Kacey Musgraves became the first country music artist to perform at the awards.

While accepting the Vito Russo Award, “Star Trek” icon George Takei made sure to thank “young straight couples because they will be making the gay babies of tomorrow.” Well put, sir!
