Justin Bieber may be old enough to drive (just barely!) but you won't catch him texting while behind the wheel. Spreading awareness about the dangers of texting while driving is an ongoing effort for the pop star. If you've ever been to one of his concerts surely you've seen the Don't Text and Drive banner lifted each night.
Biebs already gives $1 from each ticket sale to the Don't Text and Drive effort, but he has now joined up with PhoneGuard, a software company making the DriveSafe app which will turn off all keyboard functions like texting and emailing while in a car going faster than 10 mph. Through PhoneGuard the Biebs is also raising money for the Remember Alex Brown Foundation, a charity started in the name of a young girl who died because of texting and driving.
The Brown family is close to Justin's heart. He already surprised them when they appeared on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”. He even spends time planning the campaign with them. Just check out his tweets.
"It is tragic that almost on a daily basis there are reports of deaths and severe injuries caused by drivers who are texting and driving,” Justin said. “We need to change the attitudes in our society toward texting and driving and I am making it one of my personal goals to make this happen.”
Justin believes in all of you, Beliebers! Keep those hands on the wheel.
