OMG, did you know there’s a free game you can play on Facebook that helps people around the world? Justin Bieber knows about it, and he wants you to play the game along with him.
"It's fun, it's great, it's free and the cool thing about it is it helps kids all around the world," explains the "Boyfriend" crooner. WeTopia is the name of the game (Get it? Sounds like Utopia!) and like other Facebook games, you can interact with friends and make your own little virtual worlds a la Farmville. In the game, you use money known as “joy” to purchase things, and when you do that, it actually helps different organizations. See chart below for the breakdown on how the game gives back.
So how does it help? Well, in a video about the game, the Biebs hangs out with Agenor, who lives in an orphanage in Haiti and who made himself a unique and original drum set (out of trash!) that should put expensive drum sets to shame. Agenor is one of the kids who have been helped through WeTopia.
According to PerezHilton.com, the following has already been donated to Haiti because of people playing the FB game:
+440,704 Hot Meals
+450,547 gallons of clean water
+2,149 pairs of shoes
+3,268 warm coats
And that’s not mentioning the school being built in Moline, Haiti. So now in addition to seeing what all your friends are up to and playing the games you already dig, you can help make a difference in other people’s lives.
