On stage, Jared praised the activists’ efforts.
During his Oscar acceptance speech, Jared had said, “To all the dreamers out there around the world watching this tonight, in places like the Ukraine and Venezuela, I want to say we are here.”
Now, standing onstage in Ukraine, he said, “You guys are in the midst of something really beautiful, and it may be difficult, but there is no price too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself. And I want to let you know, I understand other bands have cancelled their shows, but there was no f—ing way … 30 Seconds to Mars wasn’t going to be here in this beautiful city in this great country here tonight.”

Before performing “The Kill,” he continued, “I want to dedicate this song to all the true believers out there tonight. Not just the believers in 30 Seconds to Mars. All the believers in dreams and the believers in self, the believers in country, the believers in family, the believers in friends and the believers in love and the believers in peace … and I want to hear you to sing it so loud the rest of the world hears all of us and they wish they were here celebrating freedom and love and peace.”
Jared should just win an Oscar for best quotes.
