Sweet Tweet: Ian Somerhalder’s Must-See Documentary Takes On Climate Change

2014 Winter TCA Tour - Day 8
Ian Somerhalder has lots of reasons to be proud — his acting career, his foundation, his smoldering eyes passion for life. But what’s making him really proud right now is his work with the climate change documentary series “Years of Living Dangerously,” which will be playing on Showtime.

Climate change is one of the biggest things we need to deal with, and Ian is helping lead the charge. He Tweeted:

Yup, it’s true — you don’t need Showtime to check out this ultra important doc! You do need Showtime to see the full episode, but the fact this is being offered is great news for people who want to spread awareness but can’t afford extra channels.

“Years of Living Dangerously” is a very ambitious project, and it has got names worth bragging about. James Cameron (you know, the guy behind “Avatar” and “Titanic”) is an executive producer, and some of the correspondents include Jessica Alba, Matt Damon, America Ferrera, Harrison Ford, Olivia Munn — and of course our Ian. But it’s not just a Hollywood fest: Top journalists and scientists are also involved.

“Years of Living Dangerously” isn’t only meant to be watched: It wants to get you involved. There is a page set up with suggested actions you can take after watching, and it also has pages on drought, emissions and energy you can easily share with your friends. The doc starts playing April 13, but you don’t have to wait until then to start watching — or to take action!
