#FlashbackFriday: Emma Stone Has Always Slayed In Every Way

In 2012, Emma Stone won the first ever Trailblazer Award at the MTV Movie Awards, but the truth is she has been slaying it left and right since way before then. Recently “The Amazing Spider-Man 2″ actress did an interview with the UK’s Stylist about being yourself, women’s rights, and how she loves to be a woman.

Back let’s back up a bit and list off some of what makes Emma sooo awesome. Her mom was diagnosed with cancer in 2008, and Emma is a major supporter for early detection and finding cures. Remember how she took part in the Revlon Run/Walk for Women to fight cancer? And don’t forget how this passionate activism also led her to take part in the Lips Can Save Lives campaign.

She and her “Spider-Man” co-star Andrew Garfield have also cleverly used the paparazzi to spread awareness on charitable issues (maybe more stars can do that?). And being MTV, we are a little partial to her Trailblazer Award acceptance speech, where she encouraged people to “harness your own originality and what makes you unique.”

So getting back to what’s going on now, what words of wisdom did this Trailblazer have for Stylist? “I am so glad I am a woman,” she said. “I think this is a wonderful time for women. I think the tide is turning and there are so many brave, authentic, strong and funny and vulnerable and exciting women in every industry right now. And Hillary Clinton is going to run for President, so we may well have a female President in America soon. So things are happening. I just read a great interview with Gloria Steinem about equal pay for women and all the things that are coming to the forefront, and it’s an exciting and important time to be a woman, and to take pride in our gender.”

Um, YAS!
