Flashback Friday: Sarah Jessica Parker Reps Ballet (Now That SATC Tutu Makes Sense!)

SJPthennowMain
Sarah Jessica Parker is one busy New Yorker these days! Earlier this year SJP launched her shoe line, got Queen Oprah to wear a pair on the May cover of O, the Oprah magazine, and now she’s being honored as one of Variety’s Power Women of NY!

Inside the mag she opens up about her passion for the arts, especially the New York City Ballet. The actress said, “I wanted to think about that next generation, how we were going to reach out to new audience members. Any time you can integrate arts into someone’s lives, they feel better for it. It’s important to us as people, as Americans, to allow ourselves to appreciate the art form. We know that to be true.”

Ballet was a big part of Sarah’s early life. She trained as a ballet dancer, and went on to attend School of American Ballet in NYC … maybe that’s what inspired this tutu?

It’s inspiring to see someone like Sarah be so passionate about the work she does and always pushing towards her dreams. Aside from being a great actress, we can’t help but notice the amount of good she does for the world. From becoming a UNICEF Ambassador in 1997 to auctioning shoes for the arts, she seems to always find time to give back!
