For World Freerice Week, we have two simple requests: play games and multiply. Is that really too much to ask?
Freerice is an online game that rewards every correct answer by sending 10 grains of rice to a hungry child somewhere in the world. The more correct trivia answers, the more tummies filled. Ten grain increments may sound teeny until you learn that Freerice now has 1 million members, each one knockin' out high scores every day. If all of those million players were to recruit 6 buddies, the Freerice phenomenon could take the world by storm. ... sooooo let's do it, shall we?
You know the "6 degrees of separation" theory? The one that says we can be linked to every single person on earth by no more than 6 human connections? Looping in 6 friends helps those rice bowls multiply and sends the message that we're all in this together, that no one is disconnected.
World Freerice Week is already underway, so get your wheels turning and start recruiting your quiz-happy cronies. Register your team — using Freerice6 as part of your group name -- and make sure that each of your 6 players recruit 6 of their friends, too. Decorate your online world with the Freerice message. The world could be Freericified in no time if we each just do our parts.
