New York-based musical duo Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino, otherwise known as A Great Big World, have a message for our great big world: "Everyone Is Gay." When LGBTQ support site Everyone Is Gay (and MTV Act columnist!) challenged them to write the "gayest song in the world" for an upcoming compilation, they rose to the occasion. And it's pretty freakin' awesome.
"We believe in [EveryoneIsGay.com's] mission and stand by all those who live in fear of being their authentic selves," the (straight) fellas wrote in a press release about the song. "NO ONE deserves to be bullied or treated unfairly based on sexual preference. Diversity should be celebrated."
Although our nation recently made great progress in favor of the LGBTQ community, we still have a long way to go before everyone, everywhere feels safe and comfortable being exactly who they are. Everyone Is Gay and organizations like Love Is Louder, A Thin Line, and Straight But Not Narrow want all people -- gay, straight, and somewhere in between -- to love and be loved.
