It’s a very, very sad time for America right now… hearts are shattering as the news broke that David Beckham has officially signed a new soccer deal and will be relocating to Paris! Our hearts mostlyyy healed with the news he shared next!

The soccer stud announced he will be joining Paris St.-Germain for the rest of the Ligue 1 season. Although we may still be a bit bitter that he has left the LA Galaxy, we are quite impressed with what he has decided to do with his 5-month salary. The dreamy athlete has decided to donate — yes, DONATE — his entire $5.3 million (3.4 million Euros) salary to a local children’s charity in Paris. Ummm, I didn’t think it was possible to love this man more than I already do. When discussing the salary David revealed, “It has never been about the biggest contract or the money. It’s always been about playing football. I’ve been lucky to achieve what I’ve achieved and earned what I’ve earned.”

David may be one of the most famous athletes in the world, but it’s the size of his heart that I admire most (cheesy, but y’all know it’s true). With a schedule like his and always jetsetting around the world, he still finds time to give back — like being a UNICEF Ambassador, for example. Although America will miss you dearly, congrats on the new gig, David! Now let’s see you on the field doing what you do best! (Preferably shirtless.)
