With a closet full to capacity, Abbe Pick kept her wardrobe fresh in 2010, wearing a different charity t-shirt every single week, 52 weeks in a row. With 2011 upon us, the queen of casual fashion shows no signs of stopping.
The idea for Charity Change, Abbe says, came to her in the middle of the night two years ago. She was racking her brain for unexpected ways to raise awareness about a wide range of causes when she realized that most charities have branded t-shirts for sale, generally as a part of fundraising efforts. Abbe looks at the cost of a shirt as her simple way of giving back to some great causes.
"Charity Change hopes to inspire others to not only give financially to charities that resonate with them, but also to think more creatively about how to get involved with important works of charity and kindness," she told Act.
Though every shirt is photo-worthy cool, her favorite designs are for Portraits of Hope, Invisible Children and charity: water. Unfortunately, she can't lounge in them all the time, since she admits that they aren't exactly appropriate attire for her day job. That said, it's unlikely Abbe will be wanting for sleep/gym/lounge clothes anytime soon.
