Last month, may have been National Start Your Business Month, but we have decided to go ahead and carry it on into April because we can. There are so many celebrities who have utilized their platforms and launched very successful businesses. Here’s a few!
+ Jessica Alba, The Honest Company
Jess is a rock star entrepreneur! Back in 2012, the actress launched her very successful eco-friendly company after a 3 year battle of doors slamming in her face. By trusting her vision she was finally able to turn her idea into a brilliant budding business, which last month secured $27 million in funding. The Honest Company focuses on providing non-toxic and natural baby products to consumers. Not only that, Jessica’s brand keeps expanding — she just recently came out with a new book “The Honest Life”, which is a must have guide to living green.
+ Patrick Schwarzenegger, Project 360
In 2009, Patrick along with two friends launched their first business venture, Project 360. This clothing line was much more than just a t-shirt on your back — each fashionable piece helps raise money for issues like Alzheimer’s Disease, cancer, and children in need.
+ Gwyenth Paltrow, Goop
The blonde beauty has captivated an army of online followers after her website Goop went live back in 2008. So, what in the world is Goop? The site focuses on the positive in life by sharing recipes, personal advice, and grown into quite the successful brand. Continuing brand expansion, she now has released her second cookbook “It’s All Good.”
+ 50 Cent, SK Energy Shots
SK Energy Shots were founded by 50 Cent to not only provide a boost of energy to the consumer, but on a mission to feed the hungry with every shot purchased. Another interesting aspect to these shots is that they pride themselves in not being infused with nasty ingredients but rather antioxidants and other healthy vitamins. 50 Cent has now glided into the second spot for highest grossing energy drinks behind 5-Hour Energy!
+ Tyra Banks, T Zone Foundation
Tyra’s middle name should just be “genius.” Not only did she attend Harvard to study business, but she is using her entrepreneurial skills to launch the inspiring T Zone Foundation, which is empowering young women to live their dreams. Tyra stated, “I launched the Tyra Banks T Zone Foundation with my own money because I feel I have the a responsibility to lead by example and bring attention to the issues facing girls and young women.”
+ Jay Z, Roc Nation Sports
Embarking on a new business journey, Jay Z announced he is launching a new enterprise, Roc Nation Sports. This enterprise will be an athlete management firm representing various players. Jay even just signed his first player, Yankee’s second baseman Robinson Cano! Jay stated, “Because of my love of sports, it was a natural progression to form a company where we can help top athletes in various sports the same way we have been helping artists in the music industry for years.” Will be interesting to see how this pans out! Good luck, Jay.
