Prom season is in full effect but the students of Channel View School for Research in Rockaway Beach were worried they wouldn't be able to afford a prom because of the damage Hurricane Sandy did to their neighborhood.

Many seniors look forward to prom, but Hurricane Sandy did so much damage to Channel View School for Research in Rockaway Beach -- and the area around it -- that it looked as if prom were off. However, senior Kristine Supple and other students have turned to Crowdrise to see if they can raise enough money to have a prom.

Spring Break is coming to a close for some college students, and the ones who have been doing Sandy relief with mtvU’s Spring Fix are about to be rewarded for their big hearts. This weekend they’ll be treated to a trip to Six Flags Great Adventures in New Jersey, and the girls of "Jersey Shore" are Tweeting about how they’ll be there.

If you are like me, the countdown to spring break is constantly on my mind -- saying goodbye to the grind of school and hello to a nice relaxing week. Or nice rewarding week for those taking part in mtvU's Spring Fix, a unique opportunity to spend break by volunteering in areas affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Earlier this week we shared JWOWW’s Sweet Tweet about getting involved with the NOH8 campaign, and now her “Snooki & JWOWW” co-star Nicole Polizzi is tweeting about her continued efforts to help Sandy relief. Though a few months have passed, there’s still a lot to be done. And Snooki’s on it...tanning-style!
