Does 'The Dark Knight Rises' Want to Influence Your Election Vote?

The final gritty gut punch of Gotham’s caped crusader lands in theaters tomorrow -- are y’all ready to say goodbye to the epic Dark Knight series?! WAAAH. Letting go hurts. But we can't wait to see "The Dark Knight Rises" as the film explores terrorism, 99% vs 1%, corruption, psychology of crime fighting and more. But does the movie have a special message for this Presidential election year? Controversial right-wing talk show host Rush Limbaugh has a hunch but Gary Oldman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt aren’t buying his bat beef.

I only survived my #SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con) FOMO by dressing up like Pepper Potts and watching MTV Geek’s nerdastic livestream of this past weekend’s supernatural sneak peek -- which featured fandom’s most insanely anticipated movies (“The Hobbit,” “Iron Man 3,” “Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2”), TV (“Walking Dead,” “Fringe”), comics (all new Avengers and X-Men titles) and more. Now it’s time to let Act’s geek flag fly and hit y’all with the humanitarian highlights from Comic-Con 2012.

Abe Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States, serving from 1861 until his unfortunate assassination in 1865. Abe is known as a strong opponent of slavery, the commander and chief during the Civil War, the originator of the hipster beard, and…a vampire killer?? Well, at least according to 20th Century Fox, whose new movie “Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” depicts the lead singer of The Black Keys president’s secret life saving the nation from bloodthirsty vamps. In the spirit of Abe’s new movie, out tomorrow (June 22), we’ve decided to reveal a few of our other presidents’ secret identities!

If you’re ready to hear one inspiring story, look to the life of Darius Weems. Darius has Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a terminal genetic disorder that he already lost his older brother to. But if you think Darius is sitting around feeling sorry for himself, think again. He starred in the award-winning documentary "Darius Goes West," which showed him traveling from the East Coast to Los Angeles to raise awareness and getting his wheelchair decked out. All proceeds from the doc go to DMD research and Darius has raised more than two million dollars!!!

The 2012 MTV Movie Awards are like the Oscars...but not boring. J/K, Billy Crystal! But for serious, who can compete with Russell Brand in the loose cannon department? With the bawdy Brit hosting and the Black Keys rocking out, this year’s show -- going down this Sunday, June 3 -- should be rowdy as ever. But just because we got categories like Best Kiss (nothing like a lil celeb spit-swapping to keep it interesting) doesn’t mean the nominees are all fluff and no stuff.
