A slew of summer blockbusters are getting ready to hit the big screen, but not before Blake Lively, Anna Faris, Melissa Leo and Marisa Tomei hit the Ghetto Film School Spring Benefit's red carpet. The stars were on hand to give out college scholarships aimed at developing youth into tomorrow's next film greats to students of the independent film organization.

On any given day, you're likely to find Ramon Hidalgo, Maciel Grullon, Reggie Pinckney and Mikey Guadarrama painting, sculpting, Photoshopping or even web designing. And although most of them are high school and college-aged, this isn't a class project--it's their job. Artists for Humanity (AFH) employs teens and young adults, with and without art skills, in careers creating artwork for real business clients.

Twenty high school seniors have been recognized as this year's U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts winners for their outstanding performance in both academics and the arts. The award honorees are determined by YoungArts, the organization responsible for nominating tomorrow's stars through the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts.

Rapper Common and R&B songstress Jill Scott will join six other popular poets and songwriters tonight at "A Celebration Of American Poetry At The White House." The event, hosted by President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, is part of the White House Music Series, an ongoing effort by Mrs. Obama to bring music and arts education into the White House.

Sometimes, it feels like the music that provides the soundtrack to our lives is a bit limited--as much as we love Lady Gaga and the Strokes, it’s rare that we get a glimpse into music far removed from the mainstream. Rather than settling for more remixes of the same old, however, last year 24-year-old Raw Music International founder Cyrus Moussavi packed up and moved to Kenya in a search of musical authenticity.

The group joined forces with MTV's GYT campaign to share healthy lifestyle tips and talk about their community work.

Hurley is teaming up with Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd on an exclusive collection of T-shirts and water bottles that feature Boyd's original watercolor and ink drawings. The partnership came out of a mutual interest in surfing and ocean conservation.
