The Funny or Die webseries “Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis” has gone political! Well, actually, it’s as comedy-based as ever and Zach still plays a clueless interviewer, but his special guest President Barack Obama has a thing or two to teach him in the midst of the LOLs.
The series is set up to look like a cheap example of Public Access Television, and in this new episode Zach brings out the tough questions for the president: he asks about pardoning turkeys. Okay, so he has no idea what he’s talking about, and President Obama pretends to get increasingly annoyed with him.
They start talking about websites, and the prez says, “Have you heard of healthcare.gov?”
“Here we go,” Zach sighs. “Okay, let’s get this out of the way. What’d you come here to plug?”
When President Obama asks if he’s heard of the Affordable Care Act, Zach says, “Oh, yeah heard about that. That’s the thing that doesn’t work.”
“Healthcare.gov works great now,” POTUS corrects him. “What we want is for people to know that you can get affordable healthcare. And most young Americans right now, they’re not covered. And the truth is that they can get coverage all for what it costs you to pay your cell phone bill.”
You’ve really got to see the whole video, because there’s nothing quite like watching a president and a comedian jab each other verbally for six and a half minutes. And if you haven’t already, check out healthcare.gov, ’cause open enrollment ends March 31!
