This season of “Awkward.” has, if possible, gotten even awkwarder (which is probs the awkwardest word ever -- oh wait, that is). More awkward than the one summer I spent changing my high school teacher's baby's diaper.

There’s been a lot of talk recently about 37 year old Marissa Mayer, the newly appointed Yahoo! CEO and president. With only 22% of women in science and tech related fields, many feel like Mayer along with other women in tech will pave the way for a new generation of girls in the field. So it seems 'bout right that Hillary Clinton launched TechGirls, an exchange program designed to empower young girls to pursue careers in science and tech.

You may recognize 19-year-old Jasmine Villegas as that girl who got real close to Justin Bieber in his “Baby” video (like holding hands, touching faces close), sending millions of Beliebers to jealous-town, USA. Well, Jasmine’s back with her own video premiere for “Didn’t Mean It”-- and we are still wiping our tears over her mission to bring awareness to domestic abuse.

Today, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) launched Let’s Stop HIV Together, a national campaign that gives voice to Americans living with HIV and to their loved ones. The campaign reminds us that people still have wild misconceptions about the epidemic, and are all too quiet about its existence. Reality check: HIV affects every corner of society, nearly 1.1 million Americans live with HIV, and about 50,000 more become infected each year.
