Thanks to Rock The Vote, there’s a bevy of musical badasses who are putting their pop power behind this year’s youth voter push. It's a democratic get-down you really don’t wanna miss! Founded to combat musical censorship back in the early 90s (their OG Madonna ads are PRICELESS for her accent alone), Rock The Vote has now grown into the biggest non-partisan voter registration org in America. It’s all about young people having a say in who runs this country (Beyonce has already cast her vote) and 2012 is gonna be no different.

You don’t have emotions -- you have emoji. You’re an obscure anime character every year for Halloween. And most importantly, when the earthquake and tsunami hit Japan last year, you immediately wanted to strap on your Undercover Nike kicks (designed by your fashion fav Jun Takahashi, of course) and be part of the first relief mission to the devastated island country.

Picking your fav crush in a crazy popular young adult series might seem harmless -- but according to some heated "Hunger Games" fans, the #team trend that the media has been hyping up around the District 12 “love triangle” is totally distracting from the real star: Katniss, the bow-wielding badass who faces down a violent post-apocalyptic world where survival certainly comes before sexytime. Plus these aggro tributes (that’s the official name of "HG" fans apparently) REALLY don’t wanna be associated with that rival fantasy franchise featuring a certain jorts-wearing werewolf and sparkly vamp fighting over a clumsy high schooler. Twihardly!

Between 12 to 27 million people are enslaved all over the world RIGHT NOW. That doesn’t even seem possible, right? And what’s even crazier is most peeps have no idea that slavery still exists.

What I’m about to say will tick off about 70% of Hunger Games fandom judging by recent polls in People, Entertainment Weekly, E! and right here on MTV Act. But I’m feeling empowered to let it out, so here goes: I’m Team Gale. There. I said it. I was never a big fan of District 12’s baker boywonder (boooooooring) in the books  and I definitely wasn’t stoked about Josh Hutcherson playing the big-hearted blondie. In short, I was a Hutch hater.

The Preezy of the United Steezy. The Barack Ness Monster. POTUS with the Mostess. Those are just a few of the new handles Barack Obama earned on last night’s “holy crap edition” of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Taped in front of a rowdy campus crowd at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, it was the first time the Prez has appeared on the former SNL star’s show and it capped off a pretty epic day for my alma mater.

#FixYoungAmerica (FYA) started their viral strategy with a talking baby, and after today, another interwebz sensation could be added to the arsenal: Stephen Colbert. All month, FYA’s army of youth activists have been flooding the patriotic comedian’s Twitter feed with messages asking him to join their fight to end youth unemployment, and now they're taking that social media campaign to the streets! Thousands of college students at over 300 campuses in all 50 states will be rallying for the talk show host to hop on the #FYA bandwagon starting at 2 pm ET (11 am for West Coasters)  -- so are y'all ready to get rowdy?!
