Sounds like Alicia Keys and First Lady Michelle Obama are BFFs! Alicia has hung out with the Obamas on more than one occasion, and yesterday she Tweeted about her special mission with FLOTUS.

“The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete” is a movie about the realities of inner-city life that stars Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks. Alicia executive produced and scored the film — making it, ya know, a little bit personal for her.
Screening a movie at the White House has got to be pretty posh, and Mrs. Obama made the point of inviting educators and people involved in helping young people. Speaking to her guests, FLOTUS said that Alicia’s movie “should begin the conversation that is already happening about what we have to do to invest in kids in this community.”
“Because,” she continued, “there are millions of Misters and Petes out there who are just struggling to make it.”
There was talk about education and the Obama Administration’s intent to have America become the nation with the largest proportion of college grads. The aim is to get this done in the next six years.
If you’re currently in college or working to go there someday, it can be pretty intimidating, especially when it comes to cost. That’s why we totes encourage you to check out Get Schooled, which can give you info on scholarships and stuff like that. Being educated can really open doors, including doors to the White House!
