Lady G. wants “Born This Way” to inspire “unity,” Obama’s ready to end bans on same-sex marriage, and Our Time wants to pay your rent. Check out the rest of this week’s Shorts…
+ Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” video makes its television premiere today at 5 p.m. ET on MTV’s “The Seven.” Gaga explained that the song is all about “the birth of a new race” and meant to “inspire unity and togetherness.” We’ll be tuning in at 5 to see how that plays out on video.
+ This was probably the coolest story from the past week. An Egyptian man named his newborn daughter “Facebook” in honor of the role the site played in the revolution. Zuckerberg must be so proud.
+ Jay-Z and LeBron James are “doing good all over” through their charity, Two Kings. Most recently, they provided a new gym and customized mural by Mr. Cartoon to an L.A.-area Boys & Girls Club.
+ There’s only one more day to enter the OUR TIME #LivingAtHomeSucks sweeps. Tweet your best reason why living at home sucks to @OurTimeOrg and enter to win a month’s rent (up to $1,500).
+ The Obama administration recently spoke out against the federal law prohibiting same-sex marriage, deeming it unconstitutional.
+ Who said fair trade can’t be fierce? ASOS Africa’s Spring/Summer collection is conscious–made of recycled materials–and cute.
